Supporting local Art
Hove Beach House is proud to support local artists and makers in and around Brighton and Hove. Since opening the beach house it has given us the opportunity to be able to buy, enjoy and celebrate local talent and to introduce it to our guests. Below are brief intros to the artists and producers we currently have here as well as some of the amazing arts events and festivals held in Brighton and Hove that you can visit to buy original artwork or be inspired and entertained.
The Sussex Coast & South Downs has shaped Matt's photography along with a desire for soul, simplicity and a sense of place in the Sussex landscape.
Heading out with his camera affords not only the happiness the Sussex coast brings but also escapism; removing all distractions and becoming lost in the moment. The sense of peace and tranquillity affords a fresh perspective and a more appreciative view of the world around us.
A paper collage artist using a mix of found and vintage papers. I hand cut my elements, using them to tell a new story. Colourful shapes create movement and direction, whether I am creating portraits or abstract pieces. I am drawn to damaged paper with stains, rips and hand writing from the past. These marks often dictate Cassia's compositions.

It also satisfies my yearning for colour.The semi-abstracted landscapes started with my yearning for open spaces & nature during the Covid lockdowns when I felt trapped in a concrete cityscape. They continue to inspire my work, & my yearning for open land & spaces only appears to grow with passing time. The florals and abstracts are simply manifestations of my lasting obsession with colour."

Beautiful bird vase from the Artists open houses 2026 now in the main house. After we have enjoyed it it will make an appearance in Hove Beach House, Brighton-based artist Ken Eardley produces a range of distinctive, hand built functional ceramics. He has created a collection of ceramics with distinctively retro patterns, with designs reminiscent of Scandinavian folk art. This highly popular and collectable ceramicist started with a background in textiles, he then moved on to create a distinctly fun and graphic range of functional ceramics for kitchens and interiors including mugs, jugs, vases, plates and bowls together with a new range of lamps. All his pieces are hand-made glazed earthenware and are made using press-moulds with hand-cut stencil decoration which are then fired three times. Ken’s artworks are very striking and highly popular and reflect his sense of humour.
The Artists Open Houses festival in Brighton and Hove provides a unique experience for visitors, where you can view an array of work from contemporary and original local artists and makers in their homes, as well as meeting the artists and buying artwork and crafts directly from them.

Atelier Beside the Sea was established in the summer of 2021 by Jon Tutton and Sarah Young. It is an arts venue occupying three of the iconic King’s Road Arches on Brighton Seafront, right between the Palace and West Piers. Offering a wide range of creative activities and the best in art and craft to inspire and surprise our local community as well as visitors to our city.
