Supporting local Art

Hove Beach House is proud to support local artists and makers in and around Brighton and Hove. Since opening the beach house it has given us the opportunity to be able to buy, enjoy and celebrate local talent and to introduce it to our guests. Below are brief intros to the artists and producers we currently have here as well as some of the amazing arts events and festivals held in Brighton and Hove that you can visit to buy original artwork or be inspired and entertained.

The Sussex Coast & South Downs has shaped Matt's photography along with a desire for soul, simplicity and a sense of place in the Sussex landscape.

Heading out with his camera affords not only the happiness the Sussex coast brings but also escapism; removing all distractions and becoming lost in the moment. The sense of peace and tranquillity affords a fresh perspective and a more appreciative view of the world around us.

Cassia Beck

A paper collage artist using a mix of found and vintage papers. I hand cut my elements, using them to tell a new story. Colourful shapes create movement and direction, whether I am creating portraits or abstract pieces. I am drawn to damaged paper with stains, rips and hand writing from the past. These marks often dictate Cassia's compositions.

Artists Open Houses

The Artists Open Houses festival in Brighton and Hove provides a unique experience for visitors, where you can view an array of work from contemporary and original local artists and makers in their homes, as well as meeting the artists and buying artwork and crafts directly from them.

A celebration of music, theatre, dance, circus, art, film, literature, debate, outdoor and community events, Brighton Festival takes place in familiar and unusual locations across Brighton & Hove and further afield for three weeks every May.

Brighton Seafront Arches

Atelier Beside the Sea was established in the summer of 2021 by Jon Tutton and Sarah Young. It is an arts venue occupying three of the iconic King’s Road Arches on Brighton Seafront, right between the Palace and West Piers. Offering a wide range of creative activities and the best in art and craft to inspire and surprise our local community as well as visitors to our city.
