Hove Beach offers a perfect blend of relaxation and activity, making it a top choice for anyone seeking a refreshing beach break. Whether you want to unwind by the sea, explore local culture, or enjoy delicious food, this charming spot has something for everyone. To help you get the most out of your visit, here are some practical tips that will enhance your time at Hove Beach and ensure your trip is truly memorable.

Choose the Right Time to Visit
Timing can make a big difference in your experience at Hove Beach. The summer months from June to August bring warm weather and lively crowds, perfect for socializing and beach activities. If you prefer a quieter atmosphere, consider visiting in late spring or early autumn when the weather is still pleasant but the beach is less crowded.
If you prefer emptier beaches, Hove Beach by the lagoon and to the West are much less busy that those further East. If you want the buzz of the holiday crowds head East towards Brightons beaches and it gets busier the further you go.
Early mornings offer peaceful views quiet swims and great light for photography.
Check the tide schedule especially if you want to enjoy the sand!! Most people dont realise that on some low tides Hove Beach becomes a sandy beach. If you are luck enough to be here when the low tide drops below 1m then the sand that is usually hidden at the edge of the pebble beach will be exposed and on really low tides of 0.5m when there is a full moon you can walk all the way along the sand from Hove to Brighton. Or if you enjoy a sea swim then hightide on a calm day means you can dive straight into the sea like a swimming pool from the stones with out having to wade out to get deep enough.
If you are sea swimming out of your depth, make sure to attach a swim float so if you get into trouble or get cramp you can use it as a flotation device to get back to shore.
Enjoy the sea safely. If the wind is blowing off shore i.e onto your back when you are looking out to sea then please do not use an inflatable lilo or dingy as you can very quickly end up getting blown out to sea.
Visit Brighton website has the tide times listed on its website - Remember to add an hour for British summer time BST from may onwards.
Planning your trip around these factors will help you avoid crowds and enjoy the beach and surroundings at your own pace.

Staying close to the beach adds convenience and lets you soak in the atmosphere even after the sun sets. Many visitors opt for an Airbnb in the area, which offers a range of options from cozy studios to spacious apartments. Hove Beach House is a great option being right beside the beach (only a two minute walk) and set in its own private courtyard garden, giving you have an outside space to retreat to in the heat of the day or to take a break.
